One of the top three elements found on Earth

Did you know that aluminium is hte third most common element that is found in th Earth’s crust. It is one of the of the reasons that it has become one of hte most popular metals for us to use in the construction and in other materials as well.

Aluminium is a light-weight but strong metal and it is easy to shape using Euromac Bending Machines like the ones you can find from www.cotswold-machinery-sales.co.uk/euromac/horizontal-bending-machines/ which is why it is a popular choice for many industries. It has an atomic number of 13 which means that it has 13 protons present in its nucleus. It is known by its scientific atomic symbol which is Al. At room temperature it is in a solid state and it has a boiling temperature of 2,519 degrees C and a melting temperature of 660.32 degrees Celsius, this makes it one of the easier metals to melt and pour into the necessary shaped moulds.

One of the other benefits of using aluminium is that it can be easily recycled and it actually only uses 5% of the energy it takes to mine new aluminium to recycle old items. This make it incredibly sustainable and one of the most recycled items that we have. It is thought that as much as 75% of the aluminium that has already been mined is continually is use as it is repeatedy recycled ober and and over again into other products.

Aluminium is a lightweight metal which makes it easy to move around and to work with. This therefore means that manufacuring plants nad warehouses that use aluminium as a product have lower energy costs as there is not the need for the larger machinery to move the aluminium pieces around.

The metal is also impermeable which is why it is used to reflect both light and heat and why we use it is foil to cover our food items. It helps to keep them fresh and to reduce the light and the air that can come into contact with the food product and cause it to start to degrade. As well as being malleable which allows it to be shaped it is also ductile which menas that it can be turned into almost any shape that is needed.

Aluminium is also used in conjunction with other meals such as zinc and copper to make alloys which then take on some of the metals advantages which then lead to the uses of the metal expanding even further.
